More markets can mean more conflict
A battery can sell frequency response, trade energy, reduce peaks, and provide reserve. Without an explicit dispatch hierarchy, those opportunities compete for the same state of charge and can create hidden degradation.
Treat degradation as a priced constraint
Revenue optimization should include temperature, depth of discharge, cycle history, and warranty boundaries. The dispatch engine must preserve headroom for contracted services while measuring the true marginal cost of every cycle.
Govern the operating model
Define who can change priorities, how overrides are logged, and which performance thresholds trigger review. Good governance keeps a profitable model from drifting into a risky one.
